The range of courses in Egyptology offered by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is unique in Catalonia, Spain and the Spanish-speaking world, and covers all leves and areas of university education, There are both official degrees and UAB-specific degrees.

Official degrees

The official degrees in Egyptology or which include Egyptological contents are taught by the Department of Antiquity and Middle Age Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the UAB, with the collaboration of the Institute for Ancient Near Eastern Studies (IEPOA) of the UAB. They are the following:

Undergraduate Studies

Within the new Bachelor’s Degree in Ancient Sciencies at the UAB there are 5 subjects on Egypt and the Near East, two in the first year ( “History and Civilization of Egypt” and “History and Civilization of the Ancient Near East”) and three in the fourth year (“Language and Culture in Ancient Egypt”, “Language and Culture in the Ancient Near East”, and “The Bible: Origins and Tradition)
